Humble Beginnings

How We Began

Ate Fina’s Food Products is owned and managed by Mrs. Josefina A. Aguilar. She is a housewife with four children, in Daet, province of Camarines Norte.  The company’s humble beginnings started in December 1992. This was after a three-month training of Food Processing sponsored by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). The said training was designed for individuals who wanted to boost their skills in preparing quality healthy foods.  It was convenient for her because most of the ingredients of the recipe were readily available in the market.  From this training, Mrs. Aguilar learned the process of preparing atchara or pickled fruits and vegetables such as chayote, bamboo shoot, coconut heart, and ampalaya.

Initially, Mrs. Aguilar with her children sold their pickled products on nearby households.  She also marketed them to employees through product sampling in various offices in Daet.  Consequently, she generated a regular income from selling her homemade foods. The positive feedback from the customers also motivated her to add more products. She became a member of Daet Food Producers Association, organized by Technology and Livelihood Council of Daet,  under the supervision of the Department of Trade and Industry  (DTI).  In 2010, she began to use the business name

Ate Fina’s Food Products.

Ate Fina’s Food Products takes pride in producing only the best atchara in a wide variety of flavors. Its commitment is to serve you with great homemade foods by using traditional and fresh ingredients. It is always good to start with the basics.
